Love 2 Learn Dance Academy

We're thrilled to introduce PPSDance Academy — an exclusive opportunity here at PPSD  that combines a strong focus on the performing arts with a commitment to educational success. We're proud to be working alongside Love 2 Learn to support children in becoming confident learners, passionate dancers, and well-rounded individuals.

 

What is PPSDance Academy?

 

PPSDance Academy is designed to provide dancers with additional training, knowledge and education surrounding the dance industry. Students will advance their training across multiple genres, guided by dedicated and experienced instructors in a warm and inclusive environment.

 

Dancers will have three core technique classes each week (Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical & Contemporary) with consistent teachers, helping them achieve their goals and receive personalized guidance. Additional styles such as Hip Hop, Tap, Modern, Acro, Musical Theatre, and Song & Dance will be included on a rotating basis.

 

Our Mission

 

Our goal is to equip dancers with the tools they need to succeed in the dance industry and beyond. Through this program, students will:

 

• Build confidence across all genres

• Improve technique and performance skills

• Learn life-long skills to take with them on their journey

• Set dancers up to succeed within the dance industry

• Build lasting connections in a supportive, inclusive environment with dancers who share like-minded goals

Please note: At this time, we do not plan to participate in outside shows, but in-studio performance opportunities will be scheduled throughout the year.

10:30–11:30 AM: Continued Schooling

11:30–12:00 PM: Lunch + Transportation to PPSD

12:00–2:30 PM: Dance Training

Frequently Asked Questions

 

Is this program only for PPSD Competitive dancers?

No, this is an inclusive program open to any dancer serious about their training.

 

How do you take payment?

We accept credit cards or pre-authorized debit. You must pay for the first month at registration to ensure you secure your dancer's spot. Between the months of October–June, you can continue with credit card payments or switch to pre-authorized debit.

 

Will my child earn official school credits?

Yes! We will partner with SD42 and follow the BC Curriculum to ensure students remain on track with their educational milestones.

 

When does the program run?

The program follows the standard school year (September–June).

 

Will my child receive holidays off?

Yes, dancers will follow the SD42 calendar for all Pro-D Days and holidays.

 

Can my child still take their regular competitive classes?

Yes! Dancers in the Academy will still participate in their competitive colour classes. Academy students receive two free classes, one being Jazz Technique (which has flexible attendance for Academy members only).

 

Will I need to purchase costumes?

No costumes are required.

 

How many students are accepted?

We currently cap the program at 20 students. Depending on enrollment, we may split the group for a more personalized learning experience.
