Caara Cridland

Guest Instructor

(Acro)

Starting at a very young age, Caara studied dance in every discipline, from jazz, tap, ballet, and modern to acrobatics. As the years went on her love for ‘being upside down’ led her to narrow her focus to learn the elite art of contortion and later on adding aerial silks, lyra and static trapeze.
Caara joined Westcoast Contortion and Acrobatics at the age of 16. She owes her training to Anne Lawton and Otgo Waller, former cirque du soleil, as well as aerial instruction from Kristi Toguchi out of Las Vega, NV.
At the age of 18, Caara started performing professionally. She has had the opportunity not only to perform for many events, charities, and award shows in and around Vancouver, but also around the globe. In 2009, she and her duo partner, Samantha Hall, started sailing the high seas on the MSC Poesia cruise liner out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The girls went on to cruise throughout  Northern Europe the Mediterranean, New York to Quebec City and back to the do another season in the Carribbean. In 2011 they took a short break from the ships and went to live and perform for Club Magic Life in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt and Antalya, Turkey. Between contracts they never stop performing, some notable events have included the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival in Whistler, Canada and the Ferienmesse in Vienna, Austria. Samantha and Caara went back to MSC this time on the MSC Opera, in October 2012, completing two winter seasons in South Africa.
As for right now, Caara is not quite sure where her next adventure will take her. She is truly grateful for everything the amazing world of acrobatics has given her, it has been a dream come true and she loves teaching and sharing her passion with others!!!
